Definitions of Non-GAAP Measures Pro Forma Operating Income is defined as operating income adjusted for internal review and restatement costs, the gain related to consolidation of the New Zealand joint venture and a cumulative out-of-period adjustment for depletion expense. Pro Forma Net Income is defined as net income attributable to Rayonier Inc. adjusted for separation costs related to the Performance Fibers spin-off, internal review and restatement costs, the gain related to consolidation of the New Zealand joint venture, discontinued operations and a cumulative out-of–period adjustment for depletion expense. Adjusted EBITDA is defined as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, depletion, amortization, the non-cash cost of real estate sold, the gain related to consolidation of the New Zealand joint venture, discontinued operations and costs related to the spin-off of the Performance Fibers business and the internal review and restatement in 2014. Adjusted EBITDA is a non-GAAP measure used by our Chief Operating Decision Maker, existing shareholders and potential shareholders to measure how the Company is performing relative to the assets under management.
